What are Metal Railings or Steel Railings? |
|
Steel railings, also known as iron railings or metal railings, are welded railings that are manufactured by passing vertical solid bars through holes in a top rail and welding them to both a top and a bottom rail.
Railings are ideal for installation on relatively flat surfaces but can be stepped at increments to follow surface gradients. Steel railings can also be 'raiked' (made specially at angles to follow gradients). |

Steel Vertical Bar Railings |
|
Vertical bar railings are an ideal solution when both aesthetics and security are requirements.
As a more attractive alternative to wire mesh or palisade fencing, vertical bar railings are becoming more popular in schools, parks, community projects, and in the residential sector. Vertical bar railings are manufactured from 12mm, 16mm, 20mm, or 22mm steel bar. Posts are 50mm x 100mm RSJ. |

Steel Bow Top Safety Railings |
|
Bow top railings are the ideal safety solution.
These railings are ideal for playgrounds, parks, schools, and gardens.
Bow-top railings are manufactured from 12mm, 16mm, 20mm, or 22mm steel bar. Posts are 50mm x 50mm box section steel or 50mm x 100mm RSJ depending on height and usage. |

What is Pedestrian Guard Rail?
As the name suggests, pedestrian guard rail is designed to protect pedestrians from potential danger (usually accidents with vehicles). It is most often fitted around pedestrian waiting areas such as road crossing points or bus boarding areas. Guard rail can also be used as fencing where appropriate. |

Letterbox Design Guard Rail |
|
Pedestrian safety guard rail is manufactured in 2 metre wide panels. Panels of different widths can be manufactured to order.
Guard rail frame is fabricated from 50mm x 30mm box section steel. Vertical solid steel bar is welded to the inner frame to form the infil. Panels are bolted together to give more overall structural strength. |

Bar Infill Design Guard Rail |
|
Pedestrian steel safety guard rail is available in letterbox or full bar infill designs.
Guard rail comes hot dipped galvanized (GALV) as standard but can be polyester powder coated (PPC) to any colour. |

Main Fixing Methods For Steel Railings
The three most common methods for fixing fence posts in weld mesh panel fence systems, (like with palisade or railings), are:
- Standard straight extended fence posts designed to be set in a concrete foundation.
- Base plated steel fence posts designed to be bolted down to concrete, masonary, and other solid surfaces using rawl bolts, wedge anchors, or threaded bar set with chemical anchor compounds.
- Dog leg cranked posts designed so that the mesh fencing sits atop a wall and the post is bolted to the back of the wall.

Steel Railing Gates
Steel railing gates are an ideal solution for primary schools, nurserys, and colleges.
Bar infil steel railing gates have very few protrusions, making them much safer than most other type of industrial or commercial steel gates.
These gates can easily be locked closed or locked open making them practical for schools and other such applications where safety is a requirement. We even fabricate slide latches with bent bar handles so as to be less of an injury risk.
